Skin Cancer Prevention

How to Prevent Skin Cancers

Your immune system weakens as you get older, and the damage that you have done and are doing to your skin allows skin cancer to grow.

1) Everyday, use the highest water-resistant sunscreen—everywhere—even in the external part of your ear!
2) Use Retin-A (tretinoin) cream on your face at night. This is a prescription, and is better than over-the-counter creams.
3) Take Nicotinamide 500MG morning and night. This will cut your risk by 25%. This is an over-the-counter medication.
4) Wear sun-protective clothing and always wear a hat!! Visors are bad!
5) If you will be out in the sun, like when Golfing or Fishing, in addition to sunscreen and sun-protective clothing, take Heliocare—available without a prescription. Take 2 tablets before you go out, and again 4 hours later.
6) If you have had precancerous areas—Actinic Keratosis (AKs)—treated with liquid nitrogen, then you must use one of the following creams on a regular schedule. The liquid nitrogen treats most obvious AKs, but there are many, many more lurking on the skin. It would be just like treating the termites you can see in a house, and not fumigating it!!
Use the following:

► EFUDEX 5% CREAM, alone or with CALCIPOTRIENE CREAM

► PICATO

► ALDARA

► PDT (Photodynamic Light Therapy, also called Blue Light Therapy)
