Mary Barber, MD has been a fellow of the American Society for Mohs Surgery since 1995. While serving active duty in the US Air Force, her mentor and fellow dermatologist Lt Col Daniel Ingraham developed a melanoma which led to his untimely death at age 50. Since that time Dr. Barber has devoted her career to the diagnosis and treatment of all types of skin cancer. As of August 2020 she has performed over 25,000 Mohs Micrographic Surgeries. The Skin Cancer Center of Central Florida is pleased to welcome Neil Sandhu, MD FAAD. Dr Sandhu began his medical career at the University of Wisconsin where he earned his Bachelor’s degree, graduating Summa Cum Laude. He then went to University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health, graduating in the top 10% of his class. He was accepted into the dermatology program at the UMDNJ-New Jersey Medical School, where he was Chief Resident. He earned his Board Certification in Dermatology in 2012 Since graduation, he has been a Mohs micrographic surgeon in the Florida panhandle and most recently in Central Florida. His expertise is the detection and treatment of skin cancer. Dr. Sandhu has extensive experience in cosmetic procedures, including BOTOX, filler injections, chemical peels, and photo rejuvenation. This allows him to help his patients look and feel their best. Dr. Sandhu has authored multiple scientific articles. He is a member of the: American Academy of Dermatology, American Society of Dermatologic Surgery, and a Fellow in the American Society for Mohs Surgery. Casandra Slavens, ARNP has been serving the Marion County area since 2005. She started her career as a Registered Nurse working in the local hospitals. She received her Masters in Science of Nursing in 2009 from SUNY at Stony Brook NY. She has been seeing patients in Marion County since 2009 and we are very happy at The Skin Cancer Center of Centeral Florida to welcome her to our staff. She is proficient in diagnosing and treating skin cancer to include excising verified skin cancers. She also assists Dr Barber in the Mohs micrographic surgery procedure.
